Teleconsults: Not Just For The Common Cold

You’ll be surprised to know that you’ll be able to use the WhiteCoat app for much more than just addressing typical ailments. Here are some examples of conditions that our Singapore-registered doctors will be able to treat you for:

  • Fever or headache
  • Diarrhoea, constipation or vomiting
  • Rash or cold sores
  • Eye issues
  • Urinary tract infections

FAQ

WhiteCoat operates daily (including Public Holidays) from 8 a.m. to 12 midnight, with medication delivery available up to 3 a.m. daily.

As the duration of each teleconsult varies, the waiting time will depend on the number of patients ahead of you in the online queue.

All Mediacorp Pte Ltd employees, as well as their dependants who are covered under AIA group insurance plan, are eligible for corporate benefits for WhiteCoat’s telemedicine services.

All Mediacorp Pte Ltd employees and dependants are entitled to 6 visits per policy year, no cap per visit, S$5 co-payment per visit, on a panel cashless basis.

The following costs are not covered:

  • All exclusions in the prevailing AIA group insurance policy.
  • Additional delivery fees incurred due to rescheduling of medication delivery.
  • Walk-in visits to WhiteCoat’s physical GP clinic are not covered on a cashless panel basis and will be assessed as a non-panel GP visit.

You will need to download the WhiteCoat app and sign up for an account if you have not done so. You are encouraged to sign up for an account using your work email address, though personal email addresses are acceptable too.

After you have logged into your WhiteCoat account, tap on “More” at the bottom of the page, go to “Benefits & Subscriptions” >> “Myself” >> “Add Benefit” and select “AIA Corporate Insurance”.

Once you have done so, enter your NRIC / FIN / Passport Number (as per your group insurance plan) and tap ‘Verify’. Please remember to select “AIA Corporate Insurance (Self / Child / Dependant) – Mediacorp” benefit when starting a consult.

For dependants below the age of 16:

You will need to create a child’s profile under your own WhiteCoat account. To do so, please log into your WhiteCoat account and tap on “More” at the bottom of the page. Go to “Family Group” and create a child profile. Then, go to “Benefits & Subscriptions” under the “More” tab >> Tap on the child’s profile >> “select “AIA Corporate Insurance” >> Once you have done so, enter your child’s NRIC / FIN / Passport Number (as per the group insurance plan).

When the dependants turn age 16, there will be a system prompt to create their own WhiteCoat account. Note that a person who is below the age of 16 seeking a video consultation on the WhiteCoat App must be accompanied by an adult (parent / guardian) during the video consultation at all times.

For dependants aged 16 years old and above:

They will be required to create their own WhiteCoat account and add their corporate insurance to enjoy their telemedicine entitlements. To do so, they should log into their own WhiteCoat account and tap on “More” at the bottom of the page. Go to “Benefits & Subscriptions” >> “Myself” >> “Add Benefit” and select “AIA Corporate Insurance”. Once they have done so, they should enter their NRIC / FIN / Passport Number (as per the group insurance plan) to search for and add all their corporate insurance with telemedicine entitlements.

Yes, you may. WhiteCoat’s video consultation services continue to be available to registered users outside of Singapore. However, we do not currently provide medication delivery services outside of Singapore.

Yes, WhiteCoat doctor is able to issue you a referral letter to your employer’s appointed panel specialists. They are namely:

  • Specialists Clinics in Singapore Government and Restructured Hospital
  • Specialists Clinics in Raffles Hospital
  • Specialists Clinics in Mount Alvernia Hospital

Please inform the doctor during your video consultation that your Company’s panel specialists are Singapore Government/Restructured hospitals specialists, Raffles Hospital specialists, and Mount Alvernia Hospital specialists. Please refer to your handbook for more details on your benefit entitlement and policy limit.

Yes, you can now consult a WhiteCoat Panel partner Paediatrician via on-demand teleconsult or pre-scheduled appointments on the WhiteCoat app on a cashless basis.

Alternatively, you may also make an appointment for a paediatric In-clinic consult via the WhiteCoat app and present your AIA Medical eCard during the visit for cashless arrangement.

For children aged 7 years and under:

No referral letter is required.

For children aged 7 years 1 day and above:

A referral letter will be required for the Paediatrician teleconsult / In-clinic consult to be covered under the AIA group outpatient specialist plan. WhiteCoat GPs will be able to issue you a referral letter to a Paediatrician, if required.

Kindly note that without a referral letter, the total bill will be payable by you. All claims are subjected to policy terms and conditions.

Yes, you may. You have up to 24 hours after your video consultation to purchase any medication which has been prescribed to you. You may select to reactivate your medication purchase by viewing your latest consultation history under the “History” tab.

Yes, you may. However, for security reasons, only the patient or his/her authorised person or (in the case of a minor) the patient’s parent/guardian or his/her authorised person can collect the medication package. Accordingly, if you are unable to collect the medication package personally, please appoint your authorised person to do so on your behalf via the WhiteCoat App.

Yes, all WhiteCoat delivery specialists are trained to provide contactless delivery. You may raise this request during the video consultation, or indicate this under “Note to Driver” for contactless delivery to be carried out. Verification of your identity can be completed from a reasonable distance that minimises physical contact as much as possible.

Yes, we do. We are able to prescribe medication for hypertension, hyperlipidemia, diabetes, and such other secondary diseases which may arise from such chronic disease conditions. Under our current policy, each patient must provide us with an existing prescription (which must be uploaded via the “Upload Image” function on the WhiteCoat App for verification purposes) to be eligible for a medication refill.

In line with our commitment to offering all a convenient and improved end-to-end experience, you will have the option to purchase medication prescribed by our doctors via the WhiteCoat App and have them delivered to you to an address of your choice.

In order to receive your medication from our delivery specialist, you will be required to present your NRIC/FIN card, driving licence or passport together with your unique QR code, which you may access on the WhiteCoat App via the “History” tab and by tapping on “Delivery Status”.
